Hop-on Facility 2026: Onboarding Widening Partners with Success

Live Webinar · 9 July 2026 EUR 30 million in funding. Around 60 grants expected. Deadline: 24 September 2026. Most Horizon Europe coordinators do not realise they can expand an existing consortium without submitting a completely new proposal. The Hop-on Facility allows running Horizon Europe projects to add a partner from a Widening country through a short application process — creating opportunities for universities, SMEs, and research organisations to join already funded consortia. This practical 90-minute webinar explains how the mechanism works, who is eligible, how the budget transfer process operates, and how Widening partners can successfully approach consortium coordinators. Whether you are coordinating an active Horizon Europe project or looking to join one, this session will show you how to position yourself strategically before the September deadline.

Hop-on Bootcamp for Success

Half-Day Live Course · 17 July 2026

Running consortia often say Hop-on partners “do not fit.” This workshop is designed for both sides — coordinators and Widening newcomers — to build the right partner-fit narrative, workplan integration, and application strategy.

Event Details

Date: Friday, 17 July 2026
Time: 09:30 – 13:00 CET
Format: Live workshop on Zoom
Price: EUR 350

Why Attend

Most Hop-on applications fail because the partner-fit narrative is too generic.

Coordinators receive weak letters that do not align with the workplan. Widening organisations struggle to demonstrate why they belong inside an existing consortium.

This live 3.5-hour workshop helps both sides build a credible and evaluator-ready Hop-on application:

  • Coordinators learn how to structure a partner brief without disrupting delivery

  • Widening applicants learn how to position themselves as strategically valuable additions

  • Both sides work through integration, budget amendments, reporting changes, and impact logic

You leave with:

  • A stronger partner-fit narrative

  • Workplan amendment guidance

  • A practical budget-reallocation framework

  • A clear reporting structure

  • Real Hop-on examples analysed line by line

  • A free pre-submission evaluation before the September deadline

This is live application work, not a lecture.

Is This For You?

A good fit if you are:

  • A coordinator of a running Horizon Europe project considering adding a Widening partner

  • A university, research institute, or SME from a Widening country seeking to join an existing consortium

  • Ready to bring either:

    • A workplan extract (for coordinators), or

    • A partner profile and positioning draft (for Hop-on applicants)

Not the right fit if:

  • You have not yet identified a running consortium or target project

In that case, the introductory webinar is the better starting point to scan open opportunities and assess fit.

What You Walk Out With

01 — Partner-Fit Checklist

A practical framework for coordinators to assess whether a new partner genuinely strengthens the consortium.

02 — Letter-of-Motivation Template

A structured and evaluator-aligned template for Widening applicants.

03 — Workplan Integration Strategy

Guidance on which work packages should be amended and how to integrate new tasks realistically.

04 — Budget-Reallocation Framework

Budget amendment rules explained in practical, plain-English terms.

05 — Impact & Reporting Template

A reporting and impact structure designed for both coordinators and Hop-on partners.

06 — Real Hop-on Case Analysis

Successful Hop-on examples analysed line by line to show what worked and why.

Why Attend

The Hop-on Facility remains one of the least understood opportunities inside Horizon Europe.

Many coordinators never use it. Many eligible Widening organisations never realise they can participate in funded projects without preparing a full consortium proposal.

This webinar explains:

  • How Hop-on eligibility works

  • Which projects and organisations qualify

  • How budget transfers and onboarding function

  • How to approach coordinators effectively

  • What evaluators expect in the short application

You will leave with a clearer understanding of how to enter or expand Horizon Europe participation through an already funded consortium.

What You Will Walk Away With

1. Learn How to Convince Coordinators to Bring You Into a Consortium

Understand what coordinators look for when considering a new Widening partner.

2. Clarify Eligibility Rules

See which organisations can join through Hop-on, which projects qualify, and how the mechanism is assessed.

3. Identify Running Consortia Open to Hop-on Requests

Learn how to locate active Horizon Europe projects that may be suitable for onboarding new partners.

4. Understand the Onboarding and Budget Process

Gain insight into the typical 4-week onboarding workflow, budget allocation, and administrative requirements.
